Stop Daydreaming and Start Doing

Hey dreamers and schemers! We get it—daydreaming is like a mini-vacation for the mind, where the possibilities are endless, and reality takes a backseat. But what if there’s a way to turn those dreams into a reality? Enter Proverbs 16:3—the backstage pass to your own blockbuster life.

Let’s face it—dreams are awesome, but they don’t pay the bills or fill your fridge. It’s time to drop the daydream curtain and step into the spotlight of action. Procrastination? Nah, we don’t know her. With a sprinkle of commitment and a dash of divine guidance, you can transform your talents into your very own red-carpet moment. But how you ask?

Think about it—what makes you the superhero of your story? Whether you’re a social media wizard, an art virtuoso, or the MacGyver of problem-solving, those skills weren’t just handed out like participation trophies. They’re your superpowers, meant to make the world a better place. Do you get it? You are special. Everyone that was created by God has been wonderfully made and he has equipped us with gifts that we need to use otherwise, why would we even have them? My struggle? I feel called to do many things but discerning what God is urging me to do… whoa, that’s hard. This year, I am hoping that putting a plan in motion for journaling and intentional praying will guide me.

Picture this: you’re crafting your own masterpiece, just like Bezalel and Oholiab did with the Tabernacle (Exodus 31:1-6). They didn’t just doodle in the margins; they put their skills to work, creating something amazing. These 2 craftsmen are filled with God’s spirit to design and craft the Tabernacle, the furnishings, and the priestly garments. Bezalel and Oholiab are given the ability to work in gold, silver, and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood. Similarly, your talents are the tools for building a life that’s Insta-worthy and God-approved.

Turning dreams into reality isn’t all rainbows and unicorns—it takes goals, plans, and a sprinkle of holy hustle. Proverbs 21:5 (NIV Remix) drops some wisdom: “Smart planning leads to success” or the more tradition NIV version of “The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty”.

Today’s assignment: take a step! Whether it’s launching a passion project, leveling up your skills, or just making someone’s day brighter, commit it to the Big Guy upstairs. God’s got you…He’s got your back, your front, and the whole dance floor.

One of my dreams was to start a blog. I watched others do it and thought, “what would I have to say that they aren’t already doing”? Then, I thought… “if the seed is planted then why am I not just following what I am being called to do”. Even if one person reads this and can relate, then I will feel as though I succeeded.
