How many times have we said, “We should totally get together!”
And then… we don’t.
We talk about lunch plans, dinner dates, coffee catch-ups and somehow the next time we see each other is at a wedding… or worse, a funeral.
Ouch.
The Bible gently calls us out on this.
“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” — James 1:22
In other words: don’t just say the kind thing… do the kind thing.

Love isn’t meant to live in our calendars “someday.”
Encouragement isn’t supposed to stay in our heads.
Friendship shouldn’t wait for a crisis.
So maybe this week, instead of saying “We should get together sometime,”
we text: “How about Tuesday?”
Instead of “I’ll pray for you,”
we pray right then.
Because life is short, people matter, and tomorrow isn’t promised — but lunch on Thursday totally can be.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.”
(Encouragement is active, not passive.)
Let’s be people who don’t just plan love…
Let’s practice it.
