Every January, the internet explodes with New Year, New You! energy.
Lose the weight. Join the gym. Drink the green juice. Wake up at 4 a.m. (No thank you.)
But this year? I’m not rebooting my body—I’m rebooting my mindset.
Because if I’m being honest (and I always try to be), I’ve spent a lot of time stuck in what I lovingly call stinking thinking. You know the kind:
- What if it’s not good enough?
- What if no one likes it?
- What if I put it out there and… crickets?

That mindset has kept me sitting on this blog and this website for two years. Two. Whole. Years. Not because I didn’t care—but because I cared too much. I worried about perfection instead of progress. I waited for the “right time,” the “right words,” the “right version of me.”
Spoiler alert: that perfect moment never shows up.
So here’s the truth bomb that hit me square in the face:
If I don’t put it out there, how will I ever know?
If I don’t show up, how will I grow?
Enter: 2026 (Cue the confetti)
This year, I’m done playing small. I’m done letting fear ride shotgun. And yes—I’m asking you to hold me accountable. Think of this blog as a lifestyle scrapbook—DIY, recipes, travel, photography, and real life, all wrapped into one place.
I’m toting my camera everywhere this year. Coffee runs. Road trips. Quiet moments. Loud ones. The ordinary stuff that turns out to be extraordinary when you look back. Because 2026 is the year my photography business grows. It’s the year this blog gets more readers (hi, welcome—you’re early and I love you already). It’s the year I stop waiting and start sharing.
Not because I have it all figured out—but because I’ve learned a few things along the way that have genuinely made life a little easier. And if something helps me breathe easier, laugh more, or stress less… maybe it’ll help you too.
Back to the Small Stuff (Because That’s the Big Stuff)
I also want to slow things down this year. Back to the small things.
The moments we rush past.
The tiny joys.
The sursees—those little surprises that light up someone else’s face and cast joy!
A kind word.
A thoughtful gesture.
A photo that makes someone feel seen.
Giving back doesn’t have to be loud or complicated. Sometimes the smallest acts create the biggest ripples. And those ripples? They matter.
So Here’s the Deal
Let’s make 2026 a year we actually remember.
Let’s stop waiting for permission.
Let’s get off our butts (lovingly, respectfully) and stop letting life pass us by.
Let’s create, share, give, try, fail, learn, and try again.
This is me showing up—camera in hand, doubts in the backseat, heart wide open.
If you’ve been sitting on something too—a dream, an idea, a creative itch—consider this your sign. Start messy. Start scared. Just start.
Here’s to less stinking thinking and more living.
Let’s do this, 2026.
